Y'all! I'm super sad and sorry the Good Lord has called Dolly Parton home! Like most everyone else I've admired her from afar for decades.  I'm not sure if you know it or not, but I'm from Franklin and for many years I worked at the corporate office of Service Merchandise and in order to get to my boss's house for office gatherings, we had to drive by Dolly's place in Brentwood.

I'm writing this post because of what the media is reporting Dolly said four days before she took her last breath.

Y'all, her saying “I still have so many things I want to achieve.” really messed me up as I have no desire to be like Dolly!

I super do not want to get to the end of my days here on earth only to say: “I still have so many things I want to achieve.”

As soon as I heard what Dolly said, something SNAPPED in me and my heart went directly to the one and only Jesus, who said nothing of the sort in his final earthly hours.

Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. John 19:30

Y'all, I'm still just slightly disturbed that Dolly Parton who started her career from some super meager means was encumbered by all the money, mansions, mangers and maids, in what all she wanted to achieve in this her one life
